For the first time since his departure from YG Entertainment, BIGBANG's Daesung has opened up to fans as he expressed his excitement for the next chapter of his career.
On Monday, January 2, Daesung uploaded a video on his YouTube channel D'splay, where he conveyed his gratitude for his time at his former label.
The group's vocalist decided to part ways with YG Entertainment last month in order to seek a fresh start.
In the video, Daesung zooms in on a sketchbook that captures his handwritten letter with drawings.
"I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared," he said, as translated by Korean media outlet Soompi. "As nervous as I am about taking this bold step forward, I believe it will definitely be worth it in the end.
"The year 2023 is approaching. Without an inkling as to what the future holds, I take this step forward into the unknown with only a brave heart. And I intend to walk down this road with stoic determination," he continued.
Daesung said that he is "still quite inexperienced and lacking in many ways" but he hopes that fans will continue to support his journey.
As a postscript, he added, "Someone once said, 'Nothing lasts forever.' No. Some things last. Forever…BIGBANG."
